Hot at 50
Women looking great in bikinis at 50 isn’t it great? Not necessarily, it takes a lot of time, money and effort, so is it worth it? Depends what you are prepared to do. This is what I think.
July in the woods
While visiting the beach why not take a look at the plants growing in the salt marshes and the grass in the dunes. Many of these plants are edible and can be foraged and eaten.
The Difference Between Myths and Fairy Tales
Myths, fairy tails, legends, fables and folktales – is there any difference? This post explores the differences and similarities between them and asks if we need to differentiate or not.
June in the Woods
June is a beautiful month, all green and bright when the woods look alive and fresh. Elderflowers are in bloom and can be made into fritters, champagne or gin.
Is change always good
Just lately I have been thinking about change. Some of the people close to me have been going through big changes and it has got me thinking about what makes me happy, how I can feel more content in life and looking at what I have to change to make this happen.
May in the Woods
Its May and the woodlands and open spaces are full of flowers. Not sure what the difference is between native and Spanish bluebells? Then read on to find out.
How to be a Wise Woman
Are you a wise woman or would you like to be one? In this blog I explore ideas about what is means to be a wise woman and how as we get older we should aim to become wise women.
April in the Woods
I love April. The leaves start to come out along with the blossom. Birds are singing, and if you are lucky, you will see your first swallow. The real evidence that spring is here. For foragers there is wild garlic now in flower and garlic mustard among other things. Look out for ducklings in the rivers and ponds.
March in the Woods
In March the woods come to life, birds sing, blossom starts to come out and plants start to colonise the ground. Flowers are blooming, daffodils, primrose and dandelions remind us that the sun has not gone away. Many of these plants will be covered by others or will die down later in the year so early spring is the time to enjoy them.
